Silvermist is a residential program for adult male veterans and non-veterans with mental health conditions, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), substance use and more. This mixed treatment population allows veteran clients to develop skills for relating to and reconnecting with civilians in their personal and professional lives after the military. Although this is not solely a veteran program, our experienced staff understand military trauma and the unique challenges veterans face, and are highly equipped to treat PTSD in veterans. Veteran PTSD and other mental health symptoms are also similar to those experienced by non-veteran men who have experienced trauma or struggle with mental health disorders. Our treatment programs are tailored to best support each individual based on their specific experiences and needs.

Silvermist is a Veteran Ready Organization, recognized by Psych Armor

Silvermist has partnered with PsychArmor, the leader in military culture training, to achieve Veteran Ready Certification. By taking this step to offer enhanced training for employees, Silvermist has demonstrated its commitment to offering a more genuine connection and better support for those in military and Veteran communities. Recognizing that the experiences of military personnel are much different from those of nonmilitary personnel, programs with Veteran Ready Certification structure their content to address the unique needs and strengths of servicemembers, Veterans and their families, while also ensuring the provision of evidence-based therapeutic interventions.

Veterans Affairs Community Care Network (VA-CCN)

Silvermist is proud to be a member of the Veterans Affairs Community Care Network (VA-CCN).

The VA-CCN is comprised of facilities that are pre-approved to accept veteran benefits, giving veterans faster and more convenient access to mental health and substance use treatment. The Community Care Network (CCN) uses industry-standard guidelines to administer treatment and quickly pay for services.

A doctor’s referral and authorization from the VA are required to secure funding for treatment through the VA-CCN. One way to obtain these is by visiting your home county VA office to meet with a primary care doctor. Talk to your doctor about getting a referral to access the CCN for residential treatment at Silvermist.

When you’re ready to take the next step in your recovery journey, it can feel overwhelming or frustrating to navigate the VA to access your benefits. If you’re a veteran who needs assistance in accessing the CCN referral process or who is not signed up for VA benefits, contact our admissions team.

We have admissions specialists with expertise in navigating the VA-CCN system, and we have extensive experience in working with veterans, the VA and the CCN. At Silvermist, we make it a priority to get our veterans the treatment they need and deserve.

Unfortunately, not all veterans are eligible for coverage via the VA-CCN. We accept commercial insurance and self-pay.

If you have questions about VA-CCN coverage for our addiction and mental health treatment in Pennsylvania, contact us at (724) 268-4858 today.
